How Does Aidpage Work

If you need help...

Sign up here on Aidpage - free, takes about 1 minute. Post a new message with pictures and information about your current situation and your needs - it's easy, technical skills are not required. Then, browse other people's aidpages. Use the comments section on their aidpages to send them messages. Some of them will respond to you. At the same time, other people will be visiting your aidpage and writing to you. Write back to them. Talk to each other. Make aidmates.

How can aidmates help each other...?

Aidpage doesn't tell you how to help each other... It's up to you to decide. Advice and good information are easy to share right here on Aidpage. But you can do whatever you find appropriate and necessary... in whatever way you can. Use the aid information and web links contributed by other aidmates. Add to these resources. Be a good aidmate.

If you want to help others...

Simply browse or search Aidpage and wherever interested, post comments or contact the people. They will respond to you. Make aidmates. Aidpage is free... no limit on how many pages you can post on your Aidpage blog or how many groups you can organize. Most importantly - you'll be on the web with a purpose!

The easiest way to help...

The more people know about Aidpage, the better for all aidmates. Tell your friends, relatives, and colleagues about Aidpage.

Need to know more?

Here are a few links to the aidpages of veteran Aidmates:

While prayer is helpful, what most people need is financial help. While the majority of us here are unable to give financially, we can give spiritually and through information/experience. And sometimes we can lend an ear. However, I don't believe I have ever seen couples meet as a result of aidpage -that is what informal dating is for.

In comparison to myspace and facebook? There is none. I have accounts on both and once the novelty wore off, I found them both to be a huge waste of time.I have better things to do than build a virtual farm....

I have seen this not onece but all over the usa as a ministry now i have asked for help with coats for the homeless from the salvaton army and the goodwill for a discount and was told NO THA I HAD TO PAY FULL PRICE so i just went to walmart and bought them new out of my pocket, I could never be so crule to anyone I just could not do it, Plus they through you out in weather in the single digits and the polics have to make them let people stay in out of the weather all this is true , it breaks my heart to see the things they can and will do to the helpless. remember Jesus said that it could be him at your door asking for help if it is I must pray for these people because they are in serious trouble.  God Bless The Needy I Wish I Could Help Them All.

What is the real purpose of Aidpages, What I read here on Aidpage it just seems it is like a website like myspace,Facebook just to meet people. There are many needs here....My personal opinion Aidpages my understanding what I read don't help the people, it is up to all who joins to help each other. It is sad of many I read here that so many are in desperate need of help. Personally my opinion Aidpage sounds like is people meeting people. What many people here needs is prayer. May God Bless you all!

I don't see how aidpage is helping people. What I do see is reading alot how many people needs help. It is sad to read so many that needs help. All I see here is that people are writing pouring out their hearts asking for help from others. I do however you have to be careful which ones are sincere and which ones are not. I do understand with the encomony how many are hurting. Asking for such a large amont of money, I do question myself. There are ways that you can make money to at least try to make ends meet. Have yard sales, save your cans, check in on surveys, now granted they are not going to make you rich over night but it is a little money to help you survive.

Making a dollar stretch: How many people have clothes or shoes just sitting in their closets? GoodWill indistries are making money selling people's donations. So instead of donating them to the goodwill, find someone in your area or online that will trade for something that you may need. Example: let's say you need a nice dressy clothes for an job interview and you have no way of means to buy a nice clean dressy clothes so find someone to trade with you for something of the same value that you may have sitting in your closet. I have joined a book club who will trade with me of one my books for one of theirs. It costs me $2.30 to mail it out...it is much cheaper then buying a new book. My savings are from $7 to $8...some books you buy in the store runs from $14 on up.

I can't believe I'm doing this, I've always been the one to help people...My husband and I owe 3 utility bills that the bank returned the checks on and a phone bill to be turned off tomorrow. Without electricity we can't open our business to make the money to pay them. I prayed and cried and we don't know what to do. We can't get an extension on the utilities until we bring the bounced balance current. Christmas....I can't even wrap my head around that and we have an 8 year old.

She never misses school and never asks for anything. She cares about others and her pets but never thinks of herself. First of all don't blame yourself for the situation it is what it is instead take the time you spend blaming your self and turn it into how can I improve myself. Then the 2 of you close your eyes together and find the place you want to be. Then be there for a time and then tell yourself this is it we need to be there and nothing can stop you. I should be doing that myself and often find myself there I will hopefully get there one day but your young I wish I did this sooner in life but it your chance to do it now. Use the youth that you have to get what need and want not for yourselves but for your children and there future.

Well it seems that you should be able to get a small business grant from the government as well as a hardship loan. I can't tell from your letter what type business your son may have had but is the child mother close to you. I don't know if he had life insurance that might help but you really need to look into a grant I have been. I see a great many places offering grant on this website ask your attorney about getting involved if possible. I don't know if you will be able to adopt your granddaughter but if you do buy your son's business it will make it difficult to care for the business. But I am sure if you think it through you will make the right decision. Work on holding on to your grand daughter and getting the papers you need for the grant you are going to be between a rock and a hard place but you must succeed. I have tried myself with little luck hopefully you'll do much better then I have good and don't give up.

Comment to bigdkeef's comment---Are you registered to vote, did you vote in the last election. Have you written to your congressman or state representative or senator. Have you attended any political meetings of any kind and let your opinion known? If you have done any of these you have a right to complain, if you haven't you have not done anything to better your lot. If your waiting for the government to hand you over a check or find you a home you will be waiting a long time. Your negativity goes far beyond hatred for the Government, it sounds like it permeates everything around you. Maybe trying a change of attitude might help you get what you need. It is so easy to blame the Government or family or someone other than ourselves for our plight in life. A great many of our problems stem from choices we have made in our lives and as long as you choose to stay negative and blame others for your life not being what you want it to be you will never find a better life. I wish you all the luck in the world my friend and I am very sorry you are so unhappy with yourself and those around you. I will give you kudos for coming to aidpage to vent your opinion, it is a good place to do that, it is also a good country we live in that allows you to speak your mind. sheshe030

Hi, everyone, and God Bless You all!

I'm a 41-year-old single mother of 4 kids (only 2 of them now live with me, however), and am having it HARD right now.  I lost my job in October and have applied EVERYWHERE since November, to no avail.  I sell home decorating products on the side for 'Home & Garden Pary, Inc.', and have been barely eeking by from the little income that brings. I also have borrowed money from my parents a few times for big bills that I had, but I just can't keep borrowing from them.

I had HUD (assisted housing) for the home I've lived in for the past 5 years, but the landlord didn't get the necessary repairs done in time, so now, I have to pay $300.00 a month for rent, UNLESS someone buys this house before the end of February.  HUD will then pick back up for me, and they pay $382 per month. (HUD just won't pay my rent to my current landlord anymore because she was late on getting the repairs done, although they will pay if someone else buys the house.)

Anyway, I'm still searching for a job, but I need fast cash right now, as my $300 rent payment is past due for this month, and I also have lots of other bills piling up.  I'm usually good with money, but when there's none coming in, it's so easy to get behind on everything.  I just got notice today that I had 3 bad checks come back and the owner of the store they were written to has turned them into the Magistrate's Office, so now, if I don't come up with about $400 (the checks themselves were only totalling about $250, but the court costs bounced it up to $400) by Feb. 2, 2009, I will have a warrant issued for my arrest........this has NEVER happened to me before, and I'm so depressed over it.  I don't want to tell my kids, but I don't know where to go or what to do for help.  We are so broke, we don't have money for some of the essentials, let alone any 'extras'.

I guess what I'm asking is for some Angel to help me, if at all possible.......I need cash for my bad checks and for bills, but I also need someone to buy this house by the end of February so I can still live here, too.  Otherwise, my HUD runs out at the end of Feb., and I will be paying $300 per month forever.  All this happened about the same time, which only compounded my depression and heartache.  I have tried to overcome all these obstacles and nothing seems to be working.

If there is ANYONE out there who can help me in any way, please write to me at:  Pisces34@aol.com.  I thank you tremendously in advance.

Hi Cheryl.  Sorry to hear your story.  What kind of work do you do?  Is it something that can be done from home?  is there anyone else who can help care for your husband?  Is he entitled to any kind of disability?  There is plenty of info on this site about working from home or starting a home-based business.  Here's a site with a list of resources for stroke victims, hope it helps!  Best wishes, Rosie

Hello to anyone who took the time to read this,

My name is Joshua. I'm a 27-year-old, college graduate male living in Hanover, NH. I work as a freelance writer for the Valley News and a florist for the Price Chopper because that's all I can seem to get right now. I make about $800 dollars a month. I used to make $1600 a month as a Sportswriter but my newspaper downsized.

I suffered a serious viral pnemonia a year ago which tapped all my savings paying for hospital bills and now have bills that I can't seem to get out from under. I have only $400 dollars remaining in medical bills left and one student loan of $1457.00 left. But I am struggling and can't seem to get rid of these bills. Combine these with two phone bills (one is $178 and one is $447) and what is only about $2500 dollars in debt feels incredibly overwhelming.

I have since lost my health insurance and am driving without car insurance, luckily I'm in New Hampshire and am living with my parents so I stretch the $800 the best I can. But I'm failing.  Between my car payment ($227 per month on $8000), my phone payment ($100 per month) and my credit card payment for groceries, gasoline and any incidental/entertainment expenses I have (around $300 per month). I can barely make the payments I have as it is.

I am trying, very hard, to get another job or two. I'm hoping to get a newspaper delivery position which could pay $350 dollars a week. I'm also studying very hard for the LSAT's so that I can go to law school  (divorce lawyer is the hope). I am afraid I might have to quit my jobs in order to study but if I get the newspaper delivery job maybe I can make ends meet that way.

I am a 100% legitimate person and I have never done this before. You won't see me on a thousand sites. I don't have any kids or a wife and, in general, I have my life in order. I have good parents and am not an alcholic or a drug addict or sex fiend or something weird that would appear on Jerry Springer. I am just a normal guy trying my best to make it in this world.

If you were to help me, you would be helping a real, actual person succceed in life and I would eventually pay you back completely. I know this is a shot in the dark and I understand this is probably not going to happen, but if there's someone out there giving enough, please contact me at JMBoraz@hotmail.com.

Thank you,

Joshua

Good Morning Sandra Jean!  I am not able to financially assist you, but upon reading your post, I feel compelled to pray for your success.  I too am quite spiritual and believe that if you BELIEVE it, you can ACHEIVE it!  Are you able to contact local agencies for assistance at all?  There are many programs that exist, perhaps you can call your local hospital and ask for the Social Worker.  That person should be able to direct you into a positive direction which will prayerfully lead you to getting help.  There are programs like CIDA that help with heating and light bills.  I ask God to continue giving you the tenacity and vigor to get up every day and start your day in the midst of the current trials and tribulations that you face.  I believe that you will stand TALL very soon!

Blessings to you,

I'm not sure if I will here back from anyone or not, but I thought I would try.  I am not trying to scam anyone or anything.  I am hoping to re-enter college in January and continue working on my degree. I can get financial aid for school, but I have an old balance at the school that I have to pay before I can re-enroll.  The reason I didn't finish the previous semester is because my mother was ill and on life-support and I missed too many classes so I withdrew, but it was too late to get any refund on the semester so I still owe for the classes.

The Balance I owe is just under $500.  I have no way of coming up with this money.  We are struggling to make ends meet as it is, just as I know many people are. If anyone can help out with this it would be greatly appreciated.  I am not asking to receive any money directly.  I can give you the name and phone number to my school where the payment can be made directly.  If anyone can help I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you and God Bless.

What do you do when you have no where to turn and no one to help? I am 24, my fiance and I have 2 wonderful babies. They are 1 and 2. These kids are our LIFE. We will do anything in the world for them. My fiance and I work 40 hours a week. He works days, and I work nights. We usually make ends meet, but lately 80 hours a week between us is just not enough. We are young and just trying sooo hard to make it. We have a lot of bills, and as the kids grow, so do our bills. Is anyone else in this situation? I just want to live the American dream and MAKE IT! I just don't understand what we are doing wrong and WHY we are always behind! We are Christians, we LOVE our family, and I am just sooo tired of sitting up and night worrying about our bills, and whether or not we r gonna have enough money to get us through til payday. I am sooo stressed and dissappointed in myself. I am young and work my tail off, it just seems like we should be ok. But we r not, we are digging ourselves a hole and just can't get out. My family and I are usually the ones giving, and I feel bad that I can't do that anymore....

Ok, I am new to this website. It is no secret that the economy stinks.I am looking for a financial grant that will help my family to get back on our feet. My husband was in the car business but that has bottomed out. Thus, my husband works part time and receives a navy pension. Because of this, we are in chap 13 as I work- in substance abuse, we are skimming  by but have to catch up on the electric bill, the phone bill and look for housing closer to my work. I am looking for a free grant that will help us to get back on track by catching up up on our bills. I have lost everything in the past 2 years(including my mother), I have a daughter who has been disabled yet I never lose hope.

I have searched the web for free grants but you always have to buy books and software that do not gaurantee  results.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. sharon

Are there any programs that donate wheelchair vans to disabled vets?

prayful....

When people first come on this site, it is out of sheer desperation.  The economy is such that everyone is feeling the crunch of having no money.  Then you will have the ones like the country club due one, that is nothing more than leaving a comment to stir up emotions.

People when in desperate mode need and want help, advice, and a friend to talk to.

If I were you, I would start by being a friend.  You seem to have compassion, otherwise you would have not ended up here.

Advise comes with understanding.  Understanding of situations, understanding the needs, understanding how when faced with an emergency, how to offer a possible solution.  There are so many people hurting.... emotionally and physically.  Offer them a safe haven in knowing that God is alive, and he will protect and take care of his children.

Give encouragment when needed, show love and compassion for those who feel no one cares, give advice and resources for those to find help.......

But mostly, speak from your heart, your love and faith will shine through and give you words when needed to help.

You will see quite a few odd ball posts here on aidpage. You stated you don't even know where to start with giving advise. The best advice anyone can give is the advice from their heart. Give advice from your own life and experiences and from your family and friends. Tell of places you or friends have gone and applied for help and maybe what the requirements were. Sometimes just some words from the heart to someone that is hurting or scared is all that is needed. Don't ever think you don't have any advice to share. Your whole lifes experiences is loaded with advice. I wish you the very best.  sincerely sheshe030

I am writing because Christmas is fast approaching and I am trying to do for my grandbabies because the daddy is a crack head and the mom is in prison. I am trying to raise them the best I can. I have five grandbabies and I am disabled. I thought maybe 500.00 to 1000.00 would do it. If anyone can help please let me know God Bless.
